Equipment RFQ checklist: what to prepare

Prepare material, dimensions, output, configuration and site information for a clearer machinery discussion.

Describe materials and product requirements

Provide the intended film or bag, its use and a sample or drawing. List known resin grades, blends, recycled material and additives. If the formulation is undecided, say so. Appearance alone does not establish the material or layer structure.

Label measurements and quality criteria

Use a labelled drawing and consistent units. Distinguish film layflat width, unfolded width, bag width, bag length and gussets. State whether thickness means one film wall. Separate main production sizes from occasional sizes and explain how samples will be evaluated.

Connect output to operating conditions

State the output unit, material and product specification. Ask what conditions support each reference figure. Extrusion output, maximum bag making speed and sustained acceptable finished-product output are different measures. For a complete line, check capacity matching between processes.

Define equipment, options and site responsibilities

List essential functions and options to compare. Include known floor space, height, power supply, existing equipment and project timing. Ask the proposal to separate equipment, utilities, transport, installation, training and excluded work. Do not assume that everything shown in a catalogue is included.

Use one brief to compare proposals

Fill in what you know and mark the rest as to be confirmed. Ask suppliers to identify assumptions, differences and unresolved items. Send a short brief through the inquiry form; agree the method for sharing samples and drawings during follow-up.

Prepare these selection details

  • Finished product, material and known formulation.
  • Film or bag dimensions, thickness and measurement units.
  • Target output and the material and operating conditions used for comparison.
  • Included processes, optional equipment and available site conditions.
